CBC is reporting that North Vancouver-Lonsdale MLA Naomi Yamamoto has been named Minister of Advanced Education in the new Clark Cabinet.
No other North Shore MLAs have been included in the new Cabinet.

CBC is reporting that North Vancouver-Lonsdale MLA Naomi Yamamoto has been named Minister of Advanced Education in the new Clark Cabinet.

Nice to see Provincial representation for the CNV amongst those closest to the Premier. Hopefully it pays off.
Well, none of the other three will likely be running in the next election. So Naomi is the obvious choice.

I personally am not a big Naomi Yamamoto fan but there's no question that the North Shore has been grossly under-represented at the cabinet table for a long time despite being solidly in the Liberal camp.
Surrey is not nearly so solidly in the Liberal camp as we are but has been well represented at the cabinet table and you may think that having cabinet ministers SHOULDN'T help get an area their share of provincial programs but it undeniably does and there's no question Surrey has benefitted hugely from provincial largesse while we haven't. Does anyone seriously doubt that we would have had the Seymour flyover built by now had it been in Cloverdale with Kevin Falcon our MLA?
The North Shore hasn't really had strong cabinet ministers since the days of Jack Davis and Allan Williams (who passed away recently) and it's good to see a local voice at the table.
So when is Jane's day in Court? Anyone know?
