Good on you Barry! We must get more than 21 percent out there voting this time around. Remind everyone to vote, and ask them to remind their everyones as well.
I heard from someone that 5700 so far voted in the advance polls. If that's true that's 10% have placed ballots already. Seems like a good indication of voter turnout or maybe it's just the predecided which probably make up the various organized camps in which case that does not bode well for a higher than normal turnout.
My decisions were based mostly on what everyone has posted as campaign literature - web sites, NS news stuff etc - the material that 98% of people will see and use to make up their minds.
If you can't be bothered to come up with a five page web site that tells me clearly what you are, don't expect my vote.
As far as Lisa Muri, our industry had some issues with the District earlier this year, and Muri worked incredibly hard to help sort it out and find solutions that worked for everyone.
Glenn MacKenzie will not be elected, and if the electorate has any sense at all, neither will Len Laycock or Hazen Colbert. Not sure about Jim Hanson, but of the rest, I think there are three or four worthy candidates.

Let's remember there are six seats up for grabs not just two because of Little and Nixon not running.
That's the point. If a mere 21% or so vote, then all 4 incumbents WILL be elected. The only way to get rid of them is to get different people to vote.

If the above were elected maybe some real debate would occur on District council.
It would help to not elect Bassam and Hicks.
There is very little robust debate and opposition as most decisions are unanimously rubber stamped.

By industry you mean the Dog walking industrial complex?
Forty licenced companies and counting working on the North Shore.
Plus another fifteen to twenty operating without licences, insurance and so forth.
