I am writing today to express my disappointment in the recent absolute lack of response from our elected member of Parliament, Andrew Saxton.
Mr. Saxton was elected by the members of our community to be our voice in Ottawa and to represent our community. I expect that this means all the members of our community, not just those that can be found on a society page or with a cheque book at election time.
What is happening in Ottawa now reminds me of that old Jimmy Stewart movie, Mr. Smith goes to Washington. Filibusting. However, it is just delaying the inevitable.
THE TOP 5 REASONS WHY C-38 WILL DEVASTATE CANADA’S ENVIRONMENT
It repeals the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and introduces a weaker version, without a single day of hearings before the environment committee. It removes protection of endangered species and their habitat, when approving pipeline projects, by amending the Species at Risk Act and the Navigable Waters Protection Act. It guts the Fisheries Act by removing provisions for habitat protection. It repeals the Kyoto Protocol Implementation Act. It eliminates the National Round Table on Environment and Economy.
It's not really a filibuster. What is happening is all opposition MPs are taking their time voting and talking. I think the true definition of a filibuster is if one person speaks on and on as Jimmy Stewart did in that great movie. Nice touch.

Can't get the link. It bounces back to the blog.
Anyone else have the same complaints?

And this one, today,
Saxton office a black hole for constituent emails

Dear Editor:
I'm writing in support of the June 1 letter from Alison Andersen, Our 'Voice' in Ottawa Is Deaf.
I first wrote to Andrew Saxton last fall using the link provided on the government website. No response.

Fixed the link.
I too have never received any response to emails I have sent to Saxton's office.
I wish his office would stop sending those cheap black and white leaflets espousing how great Harper and the Conservatives are.
On the other hand Thornthwaite has responded, but it always seems so canned.
Rich boy who doesn't know anything about the real people.
The Canadian government is slowly and surely alienating B.C.
We need some federal Liberals onboard.
Yes, but not Don Bell
I attended the Rally last night at Saxton's office. There were at least 100 people there. This Bill needs more debate.

I also was at the rally. Even Jim Sinclair was there.
Annoymous at 7:12, you make a point as we all do - BUT WE MUST BE HEARD!
