More cars never a problem

Are traffic studies in the District of North Vancouver pointless?

WQ's ranting does nothing but illuminate her ignorance on most things she opens her mouth about. It's her opinion and nothing more. She'll never be taken seriously until she starts to actually present documentation that supports her opinions. That letter of hers is nonsensical. John, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting such crap. You're doing nothing but posting soundbites in hopes of stirring up debates or arguments without providing any of your own editorial on what you're posting. This blog has deteriorated horribly under your watch.

I respectfully challenge you to provide a traffic study done relative and previous to a specific development, i.e. Whiteley Court, and the densification along Lynn Valley Road, that didn't produce the results that there would be no problem with traffic?

It is incumbent on you to prove to John and Wendy that they are incorrect.

Until then your comments are nonsensical.

I agree, prove this rant incorrect. I am listening.

If there is a problem with the accuracy of this post, I think the DNV should provide the inaccuracies.

So, Wendy is intimately familiar with the results of 20 years of traffic studies? She claims the taxpayers pay for these studies - that cost is born by the applicant. What other opinions is WQ passing as fact? She's an alarmist. And an ill-informed one at that.

Anon 8:25 AM:

I am not a journalist nor a professinal news maker. I am simply a citizen in the community with an interest in local politics and who thinks discussion of same is important in the community. I do this happily in my spare time when I can find it.

I accept the criticism. And I would love the blog to do better, however something tells me you are comparing the current blog with the blog of say, 2 years ago or more when there was as many as 25 posters regularily conributing different thoughts and opinions. Pretty hard to compete with all that diversity.

Barry Forward asked me to take over the blog and I did so because I thought it had an important place in the discussion of the North Van. political scene.

I invite you to become a poster and bring topics to the table!

Why does the NSNews print this crap?

Traffic calming isn't needed to control volume, its needed to control speed.
