You gotta luv it.

Another gem from 'Stache' - this was also published on the Bells website:http://www.northvancitynews.com/editorial/

Very clever, are you Bill or Dorothy?

It all comes off as sour grapes by a pair who didn't win council seats.

You can't blame our elected politicians anymore. They are beholden to their unelected leaders in Metro Vancouver, UNAgenda21 and ICLEI, you know.

If they don't comply with Metro's dictats, they will get an "F" on their report cards (which means no monetary support):

http://www.metrovancouver.org/planning/development/strategy/Documents/Progress-toward-Shaping-our-Future-Baseline-Annual-Report-min.pdf

(implemented in 2011, esp. with compliance on pages 128-129)

What monetary support do you think they get from Metro Van?

Conspiracy theorist BS.

The local councils are responsible for every land use decision and are certainly able to defy the densification plans of Metro Van. Point to one single example of where a Municipality was punished for under densifying by Metro.

Translink, on the other hand, will not invest new transit dollars in communities that aren't growing.

I checked page 128 and 129 of the report. Yes, it contains goals, but as you can see it doesn't contain any penalties, or any empowering bylaws that permit them to do a darn thing about non-compliance.

As the author of Christmas Nightmare Realized I will be creating more of the same in the coming New Year. Perhaps more in the editorial cartoon format. And it is not at all left over sour grapes, simply a concerned CNV resident "realizing" our city has been bought, sold and controlled by developers over these past 12 years. Developers like ONNI and Pinnacle - Mussatto's monument builders who will never want or care to spend a dime on any infrastructure.
You see there is no profit in upgrading or building new roads. You will never see a developer assist in building sufficient infrastructure leading to or from their prized development projects "ahead" - before the start of construction. Instead they enjoy and turn the blame on lack of transit and provincial and federal governments not keeping up to their profit making.
Thus a nightmare has been created without an end in sight.

We are very happy to feature "Stache" editorial cartoons on our webzine North Van City News www.northvancitynews.com As you can see, Stache is not Bill or Dorothy Bell...

Cleaver isn't the word I would use. It's not funny and it's more prose than poetry. I suspect 'Stache is the type of person that laughs at the wrong stuff during a movie.

I realize it is cheap and easy to be a critic rather than a creator, but this is not witty in any way.

Don't sweat it, Anon 6:49 am, because all this 'Stache person is doing is criticizing. And not very creatively at that. Maybe his next poem could offer some solutions?

Is a ferris wheel considered a solution?
